Although “My Own Special Journey” is geared to the younger generation we should all take to heart the message that Nicki conveys in her book. In a world where words and actions go viral in seconds, we should all take a step back and ask ourselves if what is happening is making the world a better place, is the world around us in balance? My grandmother, is Nicki Hyatt and she is the best in the world to me. When she read this book to my whole class, I felt good about it because knowing that my grandmother was reading and writing a story about families is the most heartwarming thing there is! I am so very proud of my grandmother because she works hard to keep the family going. I am so proud to be her grandson and I’m glad I got to be part of this book with my family.
